Mystère opened at Treasure Island in December 1993 as Cirque du Soleil's first resident production anywhere. The show pre-dated the modern Cirque format that would crystallize with O, and it retains much of that first-generation feel — big-top staging, a European circus-school aesthetic, live onstage music rather than amplified orchestration. Franco Dragone directed the original production, which has evolved across three decades without changing its core DNA. The comedy interludes — notably Mooky the clown — are a signature of the format that later Cirque shows abandoned. A more accessible, family-friendlier Cirque entry than O or KÀ. The best seats are in the first five rows for the physical comedy. Running since before most Strip resorts existed.
