Mad Apple opened at New York-New York in May 2022, replacing the long-running Zumanity residency that closed during the pandemic. The show is a deliberate departure from the Cirque template: rather than a narrative arc, Mad Apple strings together stand-up comedy, house-band music, magic, and acrobatics as a Manhattan-streetscape cabaret. Guest stand-up comedians rotate weekly. The live band plays on a stage-adjacent platform throughout the show. Specialty acts include a hand-balancing duo, a hip-hop dance ensemble, and an aerial trapeze routine on a New York-water-tower set piece. 85 minutes, no intermission. Looser atmosphere than the classic Cirque residencies — open seating with casino-floor-style table service in the front rows.
