Lake Las Vegas
A 320-acre man-made lake and Mediterranean-styled resort village 20 minutes east of the Strip in Henderson.
About Lake Las Vegas
Lake Las Vegas is a 320-acre reservoir on the Las Vegas Wash, built in 1991 as the centerpiece of a master-planned resort community. The MonteLago Village at the north end channels a Tuscan-village theme — stucco, bell towers, a pedestrian bridge over the water — that feels fully transplanted from the Strip. Two resorts anchor the lake: the Hilton Lake Las Vegas (formerly the Ritz-Carlton) and the Westin Lake Las Vegas. Both cater to weddings, golf getaways, and travelers who want a pool with a lake view instead of a casino floor. The lake itself allows non-motorized boating, stand-up paddleboarding, and kayaking. Come for a day trip from the Strip if you need a change of pace, or book two nights if you want to combine Vegas with a genuinely quiet resort experience. The drive is 25 minutes without traffic and there is no reason to try public transit.
