About MGM Grand Las Vegas
MGM Grand opened in December 1993 as, at the time, the largest hotel in the world. Its 6,852 rooms still make it the largest single-hotel building in the United States and among the largest globally. The emerald-green glass facade and the 45-foot bronze lion at the Strip entrance (the largest bronze statue in the United States) are the property's signatures. The complex includes four room towers, the 17,000-seat MGM Grand Garden Arena (home of countless title fights and concerts), the Grand Spa, and Wet Republic dayclub. A live lion habitat operated on the casino floor from 1999 to 2012 before relocating to Lion Habitat Ranch in Henderson. MGM Resorts International's namesake property. Book the Grand Tower for renovated rooms; the Skylofts offer the only true top-tier suite product at the property.
