Fontainebleau Las Vegas opened in December 2023 after a development history that spanned the 2008 financial crisis, a bankruptcy, a sale to Carl Icahn, a resale to Steve Witkoff, a third sale back to original developer Jeffrey Soffer, and a final construction completion 14 years after the initial groundbreaking. The 67-story tower at the north end of the Strip holds 3,644 rooms and 550,000 square feet of convention space — the largest hotel tower added to the Strip since 2010. The design carries Morris Lapidus-inspired Miami Beach cues from the original 1954 Fontainebleau Miami Beach, including the curved sweep of the lobby bow tie pattern. Owner-operator Jeffrey Soffer's Fontainebleau Development runs the property. The north-Strip location — near SAHARA, Resorts World, and the Circus Circus parking lot — is the quietest stretch of the Strip and a long walk from the central concentration of resorts.
